No, you're equipment is fine, though of course, bigger is better in astronomy! I have the Skylux refracor, same size as yours, and I can still get excellent views of Saturn, Jupiter (with 2 or 3 bands, and the 4 moons), Orion Nebula, Dumbbell Nebula, Adromeda Galaxy, Triangulum Galaxy, Perseus Double Cluster, Pleaides, as well as watching the changing phases of Venus, craters and mountains on the Moon when not in Full, and loads more!

Holy shit ! Thats more like it..
If anyone has a problem with the use of that word, remember, its holy..
That sounds more like it ! you said that yours is the same size as mine....
Is there a difference? Quality?
and do you think I can get to see the same?

Uranus,
You definitely sound hyped up, you dont sound like you saw the rugby match, what a bloody walloping, but the better team did win...
It gets worse!, high cloud has just rooled in here :x
back to astronomy, I took an image of saturn through the etx70,

What I can see through the scope is slightly better and in very fleeting times, sharper. This was taken with a webcam (toucam pro).

As for being excited, Well Cast your mind back to viewing that for the first time.............. It's a big wow and long may it continue..
Do you have any other images taken with the etx 70 :
and any ideas what I should look at next?

Here's my WOW factors in Astronomy. I only got my first scope in December. my routine is a bit like going to work in the morning and kissing the dog and patting the wife before leaving the house.
After aligning I check in on Saturn, I won't ever forget the first I saw those rings, WOW!!!! so everytime, I check in with the princess first. Next stop is Jupiter and those four moons, WOW!!!, then after that I check in with Orions nebula, I just can't get the whole thing in the viewfinder, but WOW!!!, after that, I chase star clusters,I don't know what the Attraction is, but I find them fascinating and spectacular. If the moons around, I can't get enough of those fault lines, craters and mountains. This little lot usually takes up all the viewing time my old bones can take, but it amounts to four or five hours. But the soup at the same time helps.
I don't know if everyone else has a viewing routine that they check in on before looking for/at other things, but I would feel rude If I didn't check out those first three items as soon as the scope is aligned and they are around.
happy viewing.
