Dont know if i should start a new subject here but I've just seen a doozy of a prominence on the Sun - 2006 7 10 about 20:00. It looks like a tree being blown in a hurricane!

For those of you who aren't sick of my white light sunspot images here are a couple more. Newly arrived sunspot 900 was a teensy spec just a few days ago. It's now expanded to 5 earth widths in length.
Took these shots yesteday as we have been forecast to be overcast for the next week or so
Nothing too dramatic but here they are:

Pretty neat Trev. I like the middle one best, its sharper and even though it is a smaller FOV than the first image, it still captures the group nicely.

Great pics there Trevor. I was looking at 900 in h alpha yesterday and it showed some good detail - must try n get an image myself

Would love to see what it looks like in h-alpha Dave.
I just took a look at Spaceweather & it's dissappearing fast now though.
Alas there don't seem to be any others on the other side that will come into view.
