Well all
Here in Waterford Ist contact was clouded out but 2nd contact seen clearly. Black Dot not very apparent?
3rd and 4th clouded out.
A number of photos taken and when developed I'll post.
Photo's in see www.irishastronomy.org/user_resources/vi...les.php?folder_id=28
About 10 people and the local National School students turned up and most (and all the kids) got a view.
My thanks to Eugene, Jim & Kenny
Conor

School of Nautical Studies, CIT, Bishopstown, Cork. Mainly cloudy and overcast. Managed to observe Venus transit at 0851UT for about 45 seconds and later at various times as cloud breaks appeared.
Excellent view using a marine sextant, with suitable shades (filters) and an 8 x 30 telescope.

What a great sight. Gorgeous clear skies from Sandymount for third and fourth contacts. Even had a primary school queue up to look at Venus. Don't forget thost Transit of Venus Survey sheets please while it's still fresh in your minds.

Well, there was plenty of cloud down here in Urlingford.
So, after several calls to Dave Lillis (Thanks Dave!) and a check on the satellite imagery, I drove the 50 miles to Boher, Limerick to the SAC observing site. Got there about 11:30am.
Weather was much better with great views for most of the remainder of the transit.

Hi Michael,
No problem, some nice shots there, weren't we especially blessed for the 4th quarter of the transit
I actually feel sunburnt.!
Lotsa lotsa picshere, I ran up over 390 on the camera, I deleted 60 as there were bad due to cloud, now what to do with the remaining 330 ??? hmm
The laptop will be on overdrive tonight with registax.
