Some lunar closeups (Copernicus, Casatus, Plato)

Hey y'all,

Some lunar shots from a few days ago through gaps in the clouds. Taken with a Megrez 90 & NexImage + 5x Powermate out of the sitting room window - too wet to risk the scope
Finally modded the NexImage to RAW mode and it seems to make a big difference, although it does leave a strange hatching artifiact that I need to process out.

About 100-200 out of 1800 frames stacked in each (terrible seeing) @ 70% quality, gradient method.

Anyway, the first up is Plato, followed by Copernicus. I think the final one was in the region of Casatus but not sure. I don't like the Casatus shot at all (if it really is Casatus).

First images since the 13th October due to the most unbelievable weather I've ever seen.

did you use registax 4 to process these?

That was my preferred one also.

Yep, it was Registax 4 with 6 alignment points if I remember rightly with a .4 pixel Gaussian blur in PS to remove the hatching artifact I mentioned (must investigate this - seems to be caused by the RAW mod) followed by a bit of sharpening.

Pretty good considering you did it from your sitting room, I'd imagine the window glass made it difficult to focus, you should try stacking about 1400 frames of the 1800 and see if it improves the image,. I have found on occasion it does while other times it makes it worse, no harm in trying.

Copernicus is good, the third image almost has a talcum powder effect to it, very nice.

Trevor great images there! i was just wondering is the window open? like surely if it was closed there would refraction of the light from the moon hence would affect the image?
