Couple of lunar pics from the 24th was created by TrevorDurity
A couple of captures shortly after dusk on the 24th. The moon was stunning that night.

Firstly the craters Hercules, Atlas and Endymion.

Next up is the region containing Theophilus, Cyrillus, Fracastorius and Madler.

First was 600 frames stacked.

Second 900 frames.

Gosh but this new Registax is excellent!

Cheers,

Trev

Those are grand images Trevor, can you give scope and camera details.
Photoshop can be used to put in text like that, very handy.

Hi Guys,

Carl, I just used the text control in Photoshop Elements with 13px Arial white & bold. Saved it as a PNG so I can move/remove the text at a later stage & output to JPG for the post.

seeing was very good

It was excellent wasn't it? Funny thing is that it was quite windy yet seeing was decent!

I'm using the exellent Virtual Moon Atlas to get the names as I observe. www.astrosurf.com/avl/UK_index.html
Yet another good free astro program!

Dave,

Sorry, I forgot to copy the details from my Flickr notes.

It was a NexImage + 5x Powermate on a William Optics 90FD (90mm, 631mm FL).
Captured at 5FPS to enable RAW capture & then converted using AVIRaw.

NexImage seems to be very similar to the Toucam 840k. Same chip but different driver.

Cheers,

Trev
