Does anyone here own a meteorite sample? was created by Seanie_Morris
I am doing a project that I think would benefit from the display of a meteorite sample. I don't think I'd be able to purchase one in time for it, and I am wondering about the possibility if anyone here trusts (or likes) me enough to perhaps loan me a sample rock?

And even if not, for those of you that have a piece of space rock, where did you buy it from, and how much did it cost you? I see many sources on the net, so I might be in the market, but I'd like to see what you owners have to say.

Seanie,

There was a recent issue of Astronomy Magazine that was almost dedicated completely to the issue of meteorites, collections, selling/buying etc. If you wish, I can go through my issues to identify the proper issue for you.

Thanks Anthony, please do. I know you keep all your magazines, but if there is anyone else that has it surplus to requirements (when I find out which issue), I'd love to get a hold of it...

Seanie,

I just checked and it is the Aug/2006 issue ... the major title on the cover is "Rocks from Space" and there is a serious amount of material and coverage within this issue dedicated to meteorites.
