Very interesting Dave - certainly food for thought. Apophis' fate is still largely an unknown by all accounts - too many variables.

Once it makes it close pass in 2029 we should be able to get more information. However, if that information is going to be bad news, it only leaves 7 years to come up with a Masterplan!
