Hi all,
I thought this might make a nice end-of-year sight for 2004. Taken from Réalta.
While Mars is an easy morning object, it does nothing more than wander through the heavens as it heads towards its next opposition on November 7th 2005. Before then, it presents a nice binocular or telescopic moment when it slips between the gap of the 2 magnitude +4 stars w1 and w2 (little Omega 1 & 2) in Scorpio on December 31st 2004. In a telescope, one should be able to get the entire passage in a low magnification, wide field-of-view, in pre-dawn skies.
Enjoy!
Seanie.
