Meteorites was created by michaeloconnell
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone here has bought any meteorites over the years? I picked up a couple recently and am wondering what the best way is to store and display them.

Cheers,

Michael.

What way did they come to you Mike? Many come in a plastic see-through box for display purposes. I have also seen people glue them to a picture/card showing the cert of authenticity and/or location/history.

Of course if yours came through the living room window with a note attached, I'd treat its provenance with a little suspicion!!

LOL :)

I have two now pieces of meteorites now and they both came in small plastic cases. Unfortunately, one fof the cases got damaged during transit. Both came with small laminated cards approx 95mm long x 60mm wide. One is an iron meteorite from Meteor Crater in the US while the other is a stony chondrite from the Sarah Desert. I only bought these in the past few weeks. Earlier in the year, I bought a small picec of a lunar meteorite contained in a nice little frame.
Ideally, I'd like to collect a few more differet types and store them in one transparent display box of some sort.

Sounds like a good idea, makes them handy for off-the-shelf transport too.
