another fireball? was created by Patricia Maypother
My son was coming out of Portlaoise on the N8 travelling towards Abbeyleix yesterday evening approx. 20.00 when he saw what could have been an orange/red fireball. It was heading in a North-Westerly direction and had a tail. Any confirmation, anybody?

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

There have been alot of fireballs seen lately in a relatively short time span. Check ukweatherworld forum for latest posts. A daylight fireball has recently been seen by more than one witness as well as several night time fireballs....check out appropriate section. Things are getting interesting lately!
Daylight fireball is also posted on www.eaas.co.uk forum....see his detailed observation. ( He is a meteorologist)

I'll confirm that! Thought I was seeing things, meant to put a similar post up myself. Looked quite spectacular.

It was quite cloudy- surprised I saw anything really. At first I thought it was an aircraft, but the speed and the flaming streak from the thing would not have made for a happy pilot!))))
