Recent Study on Light Pollution was created by Seanie_Morris
Hello all,
I read this today in December's issue of Astronomy Now, where there is an article about the recent meeting in the UK between BAA, Campaign for Dark Skies (CfDS) among others, and a Parliamentary Elect Committee about the nuisance and hazards of light pollution. The jist of it was that, while no laws or obligatory Governmental concerns are to be enforced, there is a consensus for light pollution to be recognised as a nuisance, and thus acted upon. The (very long) link below is the full report.

Enjoy!

The UK government still has to actually respond to this. A question was asked at Prime Minister Questions, but almost got drowned out with laughter. But at least it was asked.

Cheers,

Its kind of funny, but if we were not as keen into astronomy and its preservation as we are, we might even have laughed as well... how ignorance can be unkind at times...
