Dear Darksky Advocate,
The time that the 6the version of the European Symposium for protection
of the Night Sky will happen becomes very close. Pete Seiden of the
Campaign for dark skies have asked me to send you the information of
this edition of the traditional symposium. It is the Campaign for Dark
Skies (CfDS) together with IDA Europe that is organizing this year the
symposium. Pete Seidon did a terific job to coördinate this
organisation.
The European Symposium for protection of the Night Sky is a yearly event
that bring members of IDA Sections and affiliate associations,
environmental associations, scientists, local governments and lighting
designers in Europe together and where they discus about all possible
topics on light pollution. This year this will not be different!
The CfDS choosed an explendid location for this event. On 15 and 16
september 2006 they expect you in the The Royal Sailors' Home Club in
Portsmouth, United Kingdom.

Please notice that the prices their are for professional participants.
Members of IDA, IDA Sections and affiliated associations can participate
with mutch lower prices than professionals. These prices will not be
published on the side. You can find them in the application form you
find in the attachement of this mail.
I converted the prices also to euro for you so you can see that this
prices are very interesting for such an outstanding event. Notice that
the prices in Euro's are calculated with the rate that 1 euro is 0,68525
pound. This rate can change every day and so prices in euro can also
evaluate every day. So the prices in euro are just indications.
Participation on Friday: 4,38 euro
Participation on Saturday: 4,38 euro
Participation during the whole weekend: 7,3 euro
This price is including coffee of all sessions, including tea, coffee or
orange.
Price of social events:
Visit of the Spinakker Tower in the lunch time: 8,76 euro
Visit of the South Down Planetarium or the Hampshire Astronomical Groups
Observatory: 14,6 euro.
More information about singing in to the symposium and the prices you
find in the attached application form. Their you find also the
information about paying posibilities.
The CfDS has also reserved a limited number of rooms at the venue. They
can only be booked via the CfDS. You can also arange your own
accommodation. Their are sugestions for that on the site of the
symposium. You can find also accommodations via
www.visitportsmouth.co.uk .
