Kudos to Colm. Its a positive start, and his efforts paid off!
With this in tow, can a platform be established for the other 26 - 31 counties? I mean, can ILPAC's site post up such replies for, lets say, evidence when some of us need content to present to our respective local authorities?
In Tullamore, word is that recently (and I mean in the last 8 days) purchases were made from land owners along the planned by-pass route. This routes runs adjacent to TAS's observatory site. At present, there has been extremely little dialogue between the council and the public, let alone TAS. Well, as far as I can gather anyway (in relation to the public).
With the start of our season in the 2nd week in September, and new committees and proposals to be brought forward, to try and keep the club going, AND preserve our right to dark skies in relation to the construction of this publicly-opposed by-pass, this information will be an important ally.
But, seeing as beaurocracy rules, all we can do is try and keep the council well informed of our reasons et all.
Seanie.

Well done Colm. It's inspiring to hear of your efforts being rewarded. Dark skies and starry nights will hopefully now be secured for the next generation of Clare people and visitors to the region.
On my own front lines, I've been notified that the South East Regional Authority has included my proposal on LP in their Regional Planning Guidelines, however they haven't issued the final Guidelines yet. They were due in mid-late June so they're a little late at this stage! Hopefully their vision matches that of Clare Co. co's though.
Be good!
John
