7th European symposium for the Protection of the Night Sky was created by albertw
The website has now gone live:
www.darksky2007.si
5-7 October 2007, Bled, Slovenia.
The brochure is worth having a look through to see what we'll be discussing and what we'll be pushing the EU government attendees to do www.darksky2007.si/docs/Brochure_Darksky2007_LR.pdf
Myself and Mark Bailey (Armagh Observatory) will be attending.
More later in the year...
Cheers,
~Al (International Scientific & Organizing Committee)

Thanks for keeping us abreast in the past months about this Al, I know (or it seems) you are the only active IFAS member here in this.

I'm the only one who bothers trying to keep up with IDA email list and event stuff I think.
The important thing is that there are many IFAS members making people aware of light pollution and its costs, financially and to the environment. Some people here also have written to councils and the government regarding development plans and energy policy. Thats very important work.

If you feel like watching some Slovenian national TV Have a look at:
www.rtvslo.si/modload.php?&c_mod=rtv...=read&c_id=22066
Hit the video button next to "Odmevi 05.10.2007"
About 34:30 minutes in a piece about light pollution starts. The only english speakers are Bob Gent from the IDA and Miroslav Ouzký chair of the EU environmental committee. The rock band at the end had nothing to do with the conference!
