To think of all the wasted energy used in sending light into the sky, given our modern age of trying to conserve energy and reduce pollution, its such an obvious thing its a real pity the government or EU hasnt picked up on it yet,

A similar slideshow 'movie' can be done by any of us for Ireland (I'm sure that one is not Ireland : ) - which I would like to see.
Albert, are you willing to step up to the challenge? You should have lots of stock light pollution photography.

I recieved an E-mail in the early hours of this morning to say that my
youtube video ....
pollution : The Problem) has been succesfully used to pass a scrict
outdoor lighting ordinance in a town just outside of Chicago. I was
informed that the video was the final attempt to get it passed, and it
worked. I will pass on any more information if I recieve it.
Hopefully it may work in the UK too.
