Update !!!!..My neighbor called in to say he will point the light down. He said he did not realize light pollution would interfered so much with what I do. It Just goes to show people are not aware of the Problem. That light pollution is such a problem for us amateur astronomers. There you go Albert 1 down 4 million to go.
Great! Have you got 4 million copies of the Magazine to go round?
Like you say it just goes to show that most people have a complete lack of understanding of the problem. A large part of the campaign is just raising awareness.
Any chance of a before and after pic for the website if you neighbor wouldn't mind?

I SERIOUSLY never thought that artificial lighting would have such an effect on wildlife.
I THINK.............where i live is pretty dark but the birds beg to differ.
It's horrible to witness birds being wide awake at this hour of the morning.................knowing that is US mankind who is to blame for upsetting the natural internal clocks of many species of animal.
Who would have thought that astronomers would end up talking about/taking interest in wildlife.
Truth be known i am a bit of a bird spotter and general wildlife enthusiast(sp?).

Now i live in a small village which is rapidly growing fields and fields of Semi-D's - but a 100% better than the city.
My worst problem was my neighbour to the rear, putting up a large Sodium light on the gable of his house. To overcome this, my privit hedge is now 3m high to block him out. Like Carl and PJ light trespass is as much a problem as light pollution! :x
