I thought it might be worth mentioning for the Dark Sky addicts in here that I noticed on my way to Athlone yesterday, that all the lights used (that I could see anyway) along the new N/M6 (to open in a few weeks) are Full Cut Off's. At the few junctions where new roads have been added to the current N6 from the new one are also all FCO's. Living not too far away from the (new) Tyrrellspass interchange, I noted there last year that, for some strange reason, it's a mixture of FCO and semi-FCO lighting. Doesn't affect my dark site near Croghan too much mind you, except when the air is hazy.
