Sky Quality Meter was created by albertw
Unihedron have now produced a sky quality meter. This time with a data out.
Hello all,
Announcing the SQM-LE.
By popular demand and after a long design and testing phase, Unihedron is
proud to announce the SQM-LE. An Ethernet-enabled Sky Quality Meter for
night-time sky brightness monitoring using the same narrow Field-of-View
in the SQM-L model.
At $249.99 USD, the SQM-LE is an affordable meter for continual, connected
measuring of sky brightness for astronomers and dark sky enthusiasts.
The SQM-LE reports the brightness of the night sky in magnitudes per
square arcsecond.
The unit allows access to raw measurement data and calibration settings
as well as in-place firmware updates.
Software is included for obtaining readings from Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Also, full specifications for communications protocol, and example
software interfaces allow for custom uses.

I use the SQM-L to test how clear is the sky before embarking on any observing.
For example, last night I got 21.4 mag/arcsec(2)at 23.00 hrs. It was a good night for imaging.
The upgraded version looks interesting.
