Prominent NLC display tonight June 16th/17th was created by Seanie_Morris
Excellent display of Noctilucent Clouds tonight, spread all across the northern horizon. Very obvious, nice mash of electric ribbons mixed with the twilight glow.Have a look if you can. If this heatwave keeps up and the skies are in our favour each night, this week will be like shooting NLC fish in a barrel!

Photos to follow later (bedtime for me now!).

Yes I saw them too. First time seeing them really well. The sky was very transparent. I watched them up to 1am or so. Looking forward to seeing photos.

Shot this morning from 00:22hrs:


28mm lens on 350D, 5 seconds exposure.


Also, shots from the morning of June 11th:


Widefield using my 6mm lens on Canon 350D, 8 seconds exposure.



This one is overlooking the north tower of Charleville Castle c. 250 meters from where I was using 80mm lens, 8 seconds exposure.
