Occultation of Mu Ceti

Exactly as predicted at 23 32 03 UT on Feb 3rd, this 4.3 mag multiple star was occulted by the 6.8 day moon. Amazingly enough it was discovered to be a quadruple star as a result of previous occultations -

That is very much a most excellent video of the occultation of Mu Ceti, Finbarr.

I was out on Friday night -so I missed out.
Also the Lunar Cross was occurring on the Moon in or around 8 pm.

Perhaps you saw it too, Finbarr.

Aubrey, the Lunar X only crossed my mind after I'd dismantled my gear for the night - annoying.

Occultation of 5 Tauri coming up at 1750.

We will both try again at some stage in 2017.

The next opportunity to observe the Lunar X from Ireland is 3rd April from 23.22 that is including the hour added on.
That might be a little bit difficult.
But there will be others in 2017.
