Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Last night I observed La Superba, Y Canum Venaticorum, a wonderful carbon star. I was of the belief that carbon stars were red, but La Superba appeared orange to my eye. I know that colour is subjective to the viewer, I see one colour, someone else sees another, but as anyone else observed this star and noted the colour? The scope was a 120mm f/5 refractor.

La Superba is rich orange to me too, Paul.
It's definitely one of the very finest carbon stars in the entire sky.
Clear skies,
Aubrey.

Hi Paul,
I had not heard of this star until your post. While I've not observed it I'll be in and around that region tonight, so I'll take a look at it, assuming I can find it
Clear skies,
Darren.
