Coathanger was created by Paul-Byrne
Hi all
A really easy asterism to sketch, the Coathanger, the orange colour did not stand out brilliantly, with averted vision, the colour was there.
Hope you enjoy:

Nice sketch Paul ! Yes that orange star is lovely visually, I might be able to get a shot of this tonight should the weather be clear.
Fingers crossed

I'm noticing now that the orange star has the designation HD 182955.Â
Or course there are more designations for the same star. TYC 1608 1201, SAO 104839 or HIP 95582 to give 3 more.Â
But its spectral class is K5.Â
I believe this "5" makes the star a stronger orange than many stars.
If the star was K7, it would be even more orange or even almond brown.Â
But that's another story.Â
Best regards from Aubrey. Â

In similar way to you stumbling on 'Job's Coffin' recently, I stumbled across the Coathanger when I was in Waterford a few weeks back. I was on the phone with Aubrey scanning the sky with a terrible pair binoculars. Everything in sky looked dreadful, but the Coathanger looked beautiful. Your wonderful sketch brings me right back to that nice moment...lovely work Paul!
Clear skies to you,
Darren.
