Hello, one and all.
I have been checking up on the Scientific Amateur Astronomy Forum on www.cloudynights.com that the variable star RW Cephei has become fainter than normal.
Maybe it's having a Betelgeuse style of fading.
The star is a giant or supergiant star.
Its spectral class varies from G8 to M2.
That means that the star can be a yellow or even a red star.
Right now it's probably an orange star.
The magnitude varies from +6 down to +7.6 officially.
One observer on www.aavso.org is giving it +7.8.
Tomorrow (Sunday) might be a clear night.
But my only problem might be that RW Cephei too high for my Berlebach Planet altazimuth mount.
I might have to wait a few hours before the star descends.
.......and it is still so cold.
Clear skies from Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey,
Apologies for not replying...I've been flat out in work so only getting to reply now. Seems like this variable star is a nice one to observe. And I can see from your other posts, which I'm looking forward to reading, that you've been having some fun and games with it.
Clear skies,
Darren.
