Iridium flare ??? was created by galwayskywatchers
Hi from Galway,
I saw an unusual sighting in the Sky earlier while out observing Linear T7. At 20.12. Was facing east when a very bright and slow moving object appeared in the sky about one degree to the east of Aldebran, iridium flares gradually become brighter before their peak intensity but this was at an instant, it travelled in a North west direction remaining at mag -3 for a whole 25 - 30 seconds passing close to the double cluster in Perseus and eventually peetering out in Cassiopiea, anyone else see it ??

It sounds like a Meteor . Sometimes they are slow moving, sometimes very quick . Last year I saw 2 of what you described .
The reason it goes very slowly sometimes is because .. They move slow and are pushing against Earths gravity . If it is fast it being pushed by the gravity, If it is slow .. it's going against .
