It's a very nice Image Conor but I have no idea what a "belt of Venus" is, any chance you could exaplain and perhaps also mark it on the image for people like me who are obvioulsy not as informed as we should be

You can see in the image above the horzion a red then blue band. This is called the belt of venus. It appears directly opposite where the sun is setting and only becomes visible when the sun is near or below the horizon. The band is actually earths shadow to which the sun cant get it

Any ideas where the name comes from? Seems like an odd thing to call it!
