Observing the Night Sky from Galway at CSP was created by Seanie_Morris
Last night, Saturday night, was quite a chilly and crisp clear night. Seems like everyone who was out saw something from all corners of Ireland! In Galway, some of us got to have a look at a lot of nice sights through someones 12" LX200, and the university's 16" SCT. Saturn and Titan were easily seen in the low lying murk of light pollution. Mars was small, but with a little detail was discernible from it.
We also caught numerous satellites, including an Iridium Flare to the right of Orion.
Couldn't believe our eyes on the way back to the B&B around 1am the frost on everything. What really caught our attention was the transparency of the sky, even from light polluted Galway... :shock:

Ok, it might not be as big a city as Dublin....

Also managed to view, M42, M35, M81, M82, double cluster in Jed's 20" dob.
Was a lovely night. Was also amazed at the amount of light pullution in the south. The north looked lovely
