ISS visible during totality at solar eclipse in turkey.

I had a look at starry night for the time of totally of the eclipse in turkey, Mercury and Venus will be easily visible in aquarius and capricorn respectivelyto the west, AND the ISS will also be visible in the constellation of aries, taurus, eridanus and lepus in the south east at mag 0 to 2 along with 2 progress modules following it, it should be visible as 3 stars heading towards the horizon, just incase you get board of the eclipse half way through :lol:

I understand that the ISS is making a sepcific change in its orbit to try and intercept the eclipse under the most favourable conditions...

So what you see now will not be accurate at eclipse time.

At least that's what I think I read on teh SEML (Solar Eclipse Mailing List)...

its still worth downloading new tle files before the eclipse and seeing if its anyway visible.

Very much so. It's almost cetain to be visable somewhere on the ground. I'll keep you informed of anything further I hear on the SEML.
