Just got a glimpse of this a few minutes ago in a short-lived gap in the clouds. This was a wonderful sight in my trusty 10x50 Lidle binoculars. M45 and the moon easly fit into the same field of view and to make it all that bit more spectacular there was lovely earthshine too!

Me too!! It just suddenly cleared up at about 8.30pm, the clouds moving away fast. A lovely sight, though in the states later on, the moon will actually occult a few of the pleiades stars!

Stayed cloudy and breezy here till I went to bed around 10pm (yes, 10pm on a Saturday night - it was a 38 hour days for us!). Always the way...
