Last night, between some gaps in the cloud cover I succeeded in locating Fragment B and C. C was quite difficult, fairly diffuse with no central condensation. Possible tail for about 1.5 degrees? It was at the limit of visibility in my 222mm dob over the light pollution of Tralee. Fragment B was much easier, smaller and much more "commet like" with a bright point of light from the nucleus and a short broad fan of a tail.
Complete cloud cover then returned spoiling any opportunity to sketch or image them.

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680
