Sketch observing Io shadow transit May 24th was created by Seanie_Morris
Having seen Dave Gradwells excellent photo of the Io shadow transit last night, it confirms for me what I saw and could only do a small sketch of last night. Here it is:
I didn't know what it was, as seeing conditions were a little bit wobbly due to the low turbulent atmosphere (on Earth!) - I knew it could not have been atmospheric because visually, it was too strong in the eyepiece. So I thought it may have been a shadow.
As a telescope gives an inverted image, I am guessing one of the 2 moons to the lower left in the sketch is Io. That would be west.

Io was actually on the disc at that stage - you can see it on the far right of my image (the bright dot).
