Conor - not sure if I missed some sunspots or another solar event of note in your video, but it looked like, er, a pretty blank sun...

Hmmm. If I posted everything new that I tried...
Sorry Conor - I just fail to see the point of you posting a shakey video of the sun with some fairly bizarre video editing included. And to use the IFAS (well, the users anyhow) board as a bit of an experimental lab is at best questionable...
Now - if you keep at that technique and show us a spectacular sunspot group, then that'd definately be worth posting

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

I think it was a fun piece of footage. Even though there was no big spots to see today it was a good practise run for when the big guys appear! Will be great to see the results around sunspot maximum or with a partial/total eclipse or even to get a nice plane passing through the disk with exhaust/contrail. Loads of potential i reckon for some cool footage....Im sure Tony would like a still frame for SW

Hmmm - not so sure the folks that run these boards would be too happy with folks using it as a place to post test runs. Bandwidth and storage don't come cheap.
And until that image with the 747 going across the sun is in the can, I think it best to leave test runs off the IFAS boards.
I don;t wnat to start any kind of row with you guys but even I'm becoming a little bit perplexed at your propensity to post every minutiae associated with astronomy. Test runs and all...
Is there a chance you could hang back and only post those interesting shots that actually show something new? And I say this for your own benefit - you will lose the support of a lot of folks if you swamp them.
Just a thought and of course, only my €0.02 worth. Perhaps everyone else loved watching the sun video - I don't know.
Cheers - and please don't take this the wrong way - its constructive critisism
