Sunspot Activity 1st July was created by JohnMurphy
I watched with interest today a huge sunspot, though only through 10x50s as I was too busy with the kids to set up the scope.

This spot appears many times larger than the earth. Did anyone get any images?? I'll try for some tomorrow if I get more time and the sunny weather holds.

Saw this today. Large spot indeed. Lots of nice detail around the apot visible in the PST. Didn't get round to taking an image...spent the day instead building a warm room onto my observatory.

I saw it while spending the day trying to get various bits of optics to focus in the PST! With no success. My toucam adaptor seems to be a few mm too far away to get focus.

So now I'm out in the garden imaging the moon. Much easier :-)
