Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Going out to the garden shed to get the bike for work I saw hanging in the south-east a beautiful waning crescent moon, it was delicate looking, being just two days shy of new and earthshine was lovely to behold as it rode against the deep blue background sky. The air was so clear that I dashed back inside to grab my binoculars and took a couple of minutes to observe it. Though not powerful enough to show too many features it was nice to just stand there with the silence around me and take in the sight.
Oh if only I could ome up with some excuse to get to work late and take out the scope, even if only for an hour or so.

I saw it too at about 7am - through the glass window of the car. But it was a lovely sight to drive to work too. Dunno what the others drivers were flashing and beeping at me for....

Nice one Keith - where'd you take the shot? The cloud formation looks familiar.
I recall it being slimmer than that but as you say, the focus may have caught you out.
Nice image all the same!
