Did anybody see the Leonids Sunday Morning?? was created by Keith g
Well, I managed to get out of bed at 4am to check out the predicted 'outburst' at around 4.45am, and I had a very clear sky. There was some activity from 4.27am to 4.39am, but nothing special I'm afriad, after that it was a disappointment.
I even fired off over thirty 1 minute shots using a wide angle camera lens, to catch some, I did'nt even get one!
Did anybody else get out and look??
Keith..

Was out till 5am. Same a share of faint ones alright. Only saw one fireball hurtling through Ursa Major - about mag minus 3-ish. Left a trail which remained visible for several minutes. Never seen a trail stay visible for so long. Howds taking images. Only looked up to check for meteors at periodic intervals.

Myself, John Flannery and Deirdre Kelleghan were in Cloon wood from about 3AM to 5 AM.
We saw about 20 Leonids before it clouded out (only the eastern half of the sky mind ).
John has the figures and will be working out ZHR later.
Michael.

Dissapointing night for me too.
Weather was miserable and
The expected outburst never materalised.

I too rose early to have a look. Stayed up about a hour and a half not much was happening so I went back to bed.
