what was it

i didnt see a tail on it, should i expect too if it was a comet,although i was moving and i didnt see it goin behind the clouds,

Certaintly not at a casual glance, even in binoculars I could barely see a tail a few days ago. Was the object you saw like a very bright star or was it more fuzzy?

when i first saw it i was face on to it ,seemed odd to see such a large bright star in well lit skys we veered left in the car so it was off to my right shoulder then ,when i looked back out the rear window it was gone,there was a large stack of cloud in the same area but they didnt seem to be moving,all this took about apprx 8 mins from my first observation,thanks for replys.
