Moon, Venus & ISS was created by galwayskywatchers
Hi all
Next monday evening there is a beautiful conjuntion of the Moon and Venus low in the SW but also joining the pair with a close pass will be the ISS at 19.11, does anyone think it will be possible to image this as it should be fairly dark by then.

Wow!, I ran this on starrynight and the ISS passes right by Venus, the only thing is its 10 degrees above the horizon at the time, so you'd need a good sky to see this. As for imaging, I think its totally possible, its really dependent on the sky conditions.
the only thing is that the ISS will be mag 4.26 when passing, so a wide field scope or binoculars would be better.
It also passes through the pleiades and beehive clusters, and about a degree from Saturn, a nice one to look for.

Just stepped outside the office to watch the pass. The Moon and Venus made a beautiful pairing and then the ISS bisected the gap between them. It was within a degree of Venus as it climbed out of the southwest. No camera with me though

Damn clouds, the only way I was going to see this was in a helicopter above the clouds.

I must have had my timing wrong because I waited till almost 19:24hrs by my watch. Now, there was some glancing cloud about, so I could have missed the ISS, but the pairing of Venus and the Moon was stunning! I took a zoomed in picture with my phone, (I was on the road to a meeting at the time when I remembered the event!), but it didn't come out to could - not good enough to merit posting here anyway!
