Lunar Eclipse Photos & Drawing was created by JohnONeill
Hi,
A nice eclipse but not a very colourful one compared to previous ones. Yes, it was bright. The mare were easy to the naked-eye at mid-totality. The totality colour was a orange/burnt red. It had a grey border, but this turned to dull cream later in totality.
I compared the magnitude and it was considerable brighter than Saturn.
It was also remarkable how small the eclipsed moon appeared.
I took photos with my 130mm refractor, see:
irishastrosoc.org/obs/lecl2007.htm
For a true rendition I have not image processed them.
Also here is Deirdre Kelleghan drawing.

Nice work John and Deirdre. Enjoyed your pre-eclipse talk at Gonzaga too. Eclipse was fantastic. Great to see images like these to remember it.
