Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Just a heads up to all white light solar observers, I got an observation in at 10.57 UT and there is a spot just emerging around the limb of the sun and it looks promising. The spot is surrounded by fine penumbra, and it reminded me of Saturn in appearance.
The sun has been quiet of late, the last recorded spot I have was made on 25 February, by 3 March it had gone, so it's nice to have another to look at.

Thanks for that, hopefully I'll get a look at it on Friday.

Got a good look through the new Bresser 10 X 50's just now (with Baader filters attached). It is a pretty obvious mark, just in from the limb, can be seen around the 10 o'clock position.
