You underrate the image Trevor,
There is some great detail in there.

Thanks guys,

I found it far harder to process disc detail rather than proms; way to easy to over-process.

Frank, the view was lovely, even with a 10mm Plossl and 2.5x PowerMate although the image lost alot of contrast at that mag. You wouldn't see any real movement while looking through the EP other than seeing effects, but you can often leave the EP and come back 10-20 minutes and see changes. It's incredible how quick the Sun changes, e.g. most granules only last 8 minutes!

Michael, congrats on the new scope! Sounds like a fantastic instrument. I thought about doing this with the PST but the cost of a DS filter has prompted me to order a Baader ERF instead (yet to arrive). Bet you get amazing surface detail with that setup.

Hey Frank,

I've uploaded a 15 second or so movie of what you see through the PST. It's in black & white as that is how I capture. It's orange-red when looking through the scope.
Reason it's so dark is too avoid burnout of the bright plage areas while processing. You'd probably get that much detail visually at about half the scale.
