Space Shuttle Endeavour was created by StarryPlough
11:54pm - Waiting patiently in my back garden patio with a pair of binos, frozen and nearly asleep... and lo and behold, a bright light, similar to the ISS of 2 months ago, streaks across the sky from the south, originating close to Sagittarius. The object vanished into the heavy cloud covering the eastern and northern half of the sky no more than ten seconds later. About another minute passed before the coup de grace: an object resembling a blazing meteor descends from the cloud, before bursting in Sagittarius. Then, seconds later, a second, vanishing with a tiny flash in Bootes.
Now, I have been told by several friends that these two objects were the shuttles booster rockets- fantastic! Either that or they were two identical, super bright meteors with red tails... doubt it though!
Overall- what a night, all two minutes of it!

That's certainly an unusual event, although I didn't think the boosters would get up so high as to be seen from Europe since they splash back down and are re-used.
