Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hey all
I was out observing doubles on Tuesday evening, I set up the 127mm refractor on the CG-5, went through the alignment procedure and set about it. Some ten minutes later, while getting up from my chair I kicked the tripod  . Needless to say the alignment was now off, whatever I asked the scope to slew to it was nowhere near, so I had to go through the alignment procedure again.
Less than an hour later guess what I did? That's right, I kicked it a second time, I had to restrain myself from kicking it a third time out of annoyance. I wasn't going through the alignment a third time and simply input objects into the mount and enjoyed whatever turned up in the eyepiece.
I'm either going to plant a concrete pier into the ground or put barbed wire around the tripod legs to stop my size 10s doing it again.

Been there done that, wait till you get cought on the power cord and pull it out of the scope, I almost dropped the Canon when putting it on the LX200 a few years back

I don't need any help pulling cables. I got a dog to do that for me.
The biggest "Doh" moment for me was back in my DSLR days, taking a whole nights exposures without the CF card!
Regards and Clear Skies,
Dave.

I have the same mount with 6 inch refractor.
Dead Simple solution
Put a couple of blinking red LEDs on the bottom of each tripod leg.
Peter.
