They got it soooooooo wrong. was created by pj30something
All day today i was planning on a late night observing cuz the weather this weekend has been GREAT and i had time on my hands tonight to get out and have a look around.
This was the BBC's prediction for 10pm tonight.

Not a cloud in the sky over most of the country.
YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!
It's been 100% cloudy since about 7:30pm.
I hereby officially give up on anything the BBC tell us.

Last night was supposed to be clouded out also. All week long the predictions were poor, it wasn't until yesterday when you already new what the weather was like did the predictions change to 5% cover.
I spent the day in the Dublin mountains taking some shots (photos not vodka ). Not a cloud in the sky all day (evidence in my photos - link below). I would have bet tonight would have been clear as well and was planning to head back up and do a long exposure "star trails" over the hellfire club. Irish weather returned to normal unfortunately and normal service has now been restored.

I've got it in my head now to do this - I can already see the result. Light pollution will be the major problem as I will be behind the HellFire club looking North over Dublin city - some major processing will be necessary to pull this one off. Must check with Declan - Dogstar for some advice.
I look out my front door and I see the HellFire staring back at me every day.

So why not just infront of it looking south?
Or even off to the rear at a 45 degree angle...........looking NW.
Basically a position where light polution will be minimal.

Its the fog thats been over the south dublin coast all day. Its now well inland too. Even when you think its clearing the light pollution will be the killer.
