The last frame of this sequence is somewhat foreshortened due to impending cloud cover.
I didn't think this prom was going to be up to much when sketching the first frame, but it developed nicely over the day. The (extremely faint) loop in the middle two was particularly nice, requiring averted vision most of the time to pick it out.

Excellent sequence of images Jeff.
I only managed two sketches of this prom today.
Cloud rolled in around lunchtime so that put an end to that.
Did you capture the prom around PA30 by any chance?
That one erupted this morning and changed dramatically between 9am and 11am.

Thanks, Michael and John.
I didn't spend much time with the one at PA30 yesterday (and didn't sketch it at all) because it was fairly dim by the time I got out. I think I missed most of the action.
Interestingly, I found the opposite today. The one at PA210 is still there and still much brighter, but it struck me as rather featureless. The PA30 one, on the other hand, took some real study but revealed a wealth of feathery detail. (Sketch to follow.)
Cheers,
-- Jeff.
