Perseids was created by phil18ie
Was just out observing for an hour or so and saw about 15 perseids! under lightpolluted skies. three of which were very bright.
Heopfully it will be clear again tomorrow night and I'll spot some more.

Hi Dave
I was quite surprised to see 15 perseids from where I live ( Tallaght) in the space of an hour! Alot of them where just quick and faintish but 3 were very bright and slow..one for example was very bright and zoomed right over my head through cygnus, lyra before burning away in hercules. Also saw 2 Iridium flares and checked out jupiter and the moon through 15 x 70 binoculars, also tried to spot uranus aswell.

Im located in the North Co. Monaghan area, I guess we were lucky with moderately clear skies and a average 30% visible sky.
I thought the Perseids on 12th/13th August seemed fairly steady rate wise, I was clocking some 20 to 30 perseid/sporadics per hour. There seemed to be a peak at the 1.45 am period.
I reckon they must have been fairly bright because there was quite a bit of high semi transparent cloud.
The moon and Jupiter were pretty close, but the scene at 11pm was awe inspiring through the cloud veil with some very surreal effects.
My tally was 82 perseids for 4.5 hours observing in a dark sky site. Better than last year and the year before and the year before...........
