Just a quick one was created by Calibos
Despite some clear spells over the last few nights, I just haven't been able to motivate myself to drag the scope out after work. Been feeling guilty about that and also a little worried. Was I starting to tire of this astronomy malarkey?

Well nature called at nearly 5am  and I also went into the kitchen for a glass of water. Didn't turn on the lights. Had a look out the window and witnessed, The Return of the King : cheer: Orion the Hunter majestically riding high in the sky with his trusty canine Sirius not far behind. Felt a wave of elation when I saw it. This isn't the first time I've seen it this year as the full constellation was visible above the horizon in the east just as we were leaving the last SDAS session, but there is just something about it riding high in the south.

It really is a magnificent constellation.

So, I got a buzz from seeing something again that I had seen plenty of last winter. Maybe I am not tiring of this Astronomy malarkey after all!!

I felt the same buzz around 2:30am this morning. On my way home from work, I had him staring me out of it on his side the whole journey home. Cumaaawn Winter!

Man this is typical, I felt a flu coming on Wednesday, I was dying last night, if I had gone out I'd be dead now, currently doped up on uniflu tablets so I'm hoping to be ok for Sunday night as it might be clear then.
I cant wait to use the obsessionator on the hunter on a moonless night !

Done the same myself twice this week but at 5am I was so tired I thought that Saturn(Sirius really) was back. I keep saying this year I will ignore the Great Nebula and image something else but............ I don't think its possible to ignore its beauty.
