Permission to use NLC photos was created by johnflannery
Hi all,
Congrats on all the beautiful photos of the recent NLC displays. I saw the one on Monday night from Balbriggan but the battery on the camera failed after just one picture
I was talking to Leo Enright this morning and mentioned the various images taken by Irish amateur astronomers. Leo is going to be contacting Met Eireann to see if they might run a small slot in their evening report about NLC displays. Obviously, any photos would be most welcome.
I would like to therefore ask for permission to pass on to Leo any pictures taken by you of recent NLC displays. All images will be properly credited. Many thanks in advance!
All the best,
John (Flannery)

The display in the images above are from the thee best NLC display I've ever seen (June14 2006)

These are from June16 2009.
Whats very striking is the fact that these displays were witin 30 hours of each other, 3 years a part, there was another display on the 17th, horizon cloud blocked my view unfortunetly, These seems to be almost predictable peak a week or so either side of Mid June.
I have to say that this is my favourite.

There are some great pictures there folks. I didn't have my camera with me any of the nights myself where I was unfortunately. Last night's display (Thursday) was very striking in filament structure around 02:30hrs - did anyone get any photos of it? The crescent Moon rising on the horizon was a nice touch to it.
