Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Got out on Friday evening with the new (second hand) scope and pulled in M29. Not difficult to sketch but a nice one to start off the new season.
Enjoy.

Hi there.
Can anyone out there help me, each time I try to download an image from Flickr it comes out as a very small image on the site page. I am copying the largest image that Flickr produces, as seen when you follow the URL.
I have seen images posted that are much larger, can anyone tell me how to go about this.
Thanks.
Paul

When you paste in a link for an image, highlight the link and click "Img" button. It sets limits on the image size and you will see the number 150 mentioned. It is this number that is setting a limit on the image size. Change the first bit to just "img" in square brackets.
Hope this helps,
Michael

Paul,
As Michael says remove the =150 from the opening IMG tag. So instead of IMG=150 inside the square brackets, it should be just img
One other thing I noticed about flikr and some forums is that if one uses the direct link for the pic provided at the right hand side of the page, the forum software often displays a message that the image is too large in data size, no matter how small it actually is. For instance, with flikr and CLoudynights I wanted to display a 40kb image under the forums resolution limit and under the data size limit of 100kb. CN software said image was too big. Whatevr Flikr was doing it was changing the image to 200kb!!
I found that if one clicked the link above the picture 'All Sizes' and selected 'Largest' (which is the native res of your pic). Now right click on 'Download the large size' and 'copy shortcut'. You've now copied the working link to the actual pic without flikr messing it up.
This is the flikr link from the right side of the page inside the default IFAS image tags

This is the same picture using my flikr link method inside plain img tags

Nice sketch, Paul!
BTW, if you attach the image and then edit your post, you might also see something along the lines of [ img size="600" ] and then a URL to the image on the IFAS site. Removing the size attribute so you have only [ img ] will make the image display in true size.
