8/8/2009 - PROMINENCE AREA was created by THEO-007
The seeing medium today here in athens. Light clouds and strong wind the weather conditions.

The surface hadn`t nothing special.

The great point today is a large area on the limb. Three prominences here.

The bigger is a very beautiful anomalous type prominence. Very tall and with more plasma on her base.

The other two prominences has the same form the same height and connected between them with a little detached prominence.

Some nice images there Theo. I think the 70mm CaK (torquoise) looks like something out of a science fiction movie! Is the brighter speckled area on that one (area 1024) a prominence head-on or a sunspot area? The big prominence in the top pair looks like a geyser erupting into space, and reminds me of a similar shot captured by Voyager at Io:

Pretty cool!
