Somethings moves there at NE. We have a great prominence area. Two vertical bar prominences where they close with a loop.

The polar filaments today from three making two and more weaker from yesterday.

Nothing other special.

The CaK remain down.

Two photos of CaK and Ha in my solar blog links.

They're good postings Theo

What is CaK - is it combined Calcium and Potassoum wavelengths - single filter or two? Or is it something else? And if my question is sensible than can we conclude that promenances are not just H-alpha but contain other spectra?

Also if an observer were to sit and watch in real time would that observer perceive changes - or do things change so slowly that an observer would have to wait hours to see changes?

Regards
Mark

well my friend.

CaK is the calcium line. This chromospheric line is under the Ha line and upper of the photosphere.

So at the CaK line you must see the supergranulation namely The spots with strong magnetic fields.

In the CaK line we see painomena like chromosperic plages, sunspots, etc before i see them to Ha line.

The answer at the second question is yes. Especially on prominenses you can see changes into a few minutes
