Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Another clear night within a week, that must be a some kind of record:P . Anyway, got out again, luckily I'm on holidays and grabbed some more sketches.
Hope you like them.
M39
A nice easy cluster to open up the night.
M56
I found it difficult to resolve stars in this globular. It's not a huge object and tends to get get lost in the Milky Way.
M15
I spent the best part of an hour on M15 as the more I looked the more I could see. One thing that I did notice is that the core of this globular is offset from the centre. With many globulars the core seems to sit at the heart of the cluster surrounded by a circular, or nearly cirular, halo of fainter stars. Again it wasn't easy to resvole individual stars within the cluster.
There was a lot of moisture in the air and around 2am it looked like a bank of high thin cloud rolled in, Jupiter took on a faint and fuzzy appearance.
Thanks for looking.
Paul

Nice globs there, Paul.
I had high thin clouds till about midnight, at which point I gave up and went to bed. At least I was rewarded with some sun in the morning (see prominence thread).
Cheers,
-- Jeff.

Yeah, me too, I got a fantastic view of M15 last night until about 11pm when the humid high clouds came in. I like you sketches Paul, better than anything I could produce
